ENSURING WICHITA'S JEWISH PRESENCE

The Joan Beren Jewish Community School (JBJCS) - a partnership between our congregation and Ahavath Achim Hebrew Congregation, with additional financial support from the Mid-Kansas Jewish Federation - offers students pre-K through ninth grade a formal setting to learn about Judiasm in a fun, engaging, environment.

A full-time Education Director, teachers, and volunteers have developed and teach from a formal curriculum (classes held Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings) based on:

  • Jewish Faith - theology, Torah, prayer, and Hebrew

  • Customs and Traditions - holidays, festivals, food, music, art, and culture

The academic year parallels the local school calendar with enrollment before the "Fall" and "Spring" semesters. Financial assistance to offset tuition costs is available.
