LIFELONG LEARNING AND UNDERSTANDING

For many Jews, formal learning about our faith, traditions, customs, and relationships with G-d and others ends at the time of Bar Mitzvah / Bat Mitzvah. Our congregation continues formal Sunday School education through Confirmation and encourages lifelong exploration - after all some interpretations believe that Jews, by definition, are to "wrestle with G-d". Our Adult Education committee is charged with regular and on-going education for our membership and for the larger community including those exploring Judaism and of other faiths. Check our calendar for all events and information on participation but some of our annual initiatives include:

TASTE OF JUDAISM

An eight week class for non-Jews, the program explores the very basics of our faith including our life cycle, our significant holidays and traditions, and various customs.

PREPARATION

As major events approach - the Adult Education committee partners with other committees, Rabbi Davis, and beyond to host discussions to explore and prepare for what's to come.

FILM DISCUSSIONS

A quarterly happening, we watch a current-, classic-, controversial-, or emerging film looking at Judaism, Jewish life, Jewish issues, or our history and discuss the film and its impact.
